What’s Your Body Trying to Tell You?

This is an immersive session, not a lecture. We’ll reconnect you with your body’s natural rhythms and patterns that will allow you to decipher your body’s wisdom and move with intention. Through understanding your specific nervous system signal, you’ll learn to track sensations in your body, ease chronic tension, and develop tools to better manage stress and anxiety.

This workshop combines breathwork, somatic shaking techniques, and restorative yoga to elevate and decompress your nervous system in an intentional way to unlock patterns of holding and provokes an overall feeling of well-being.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll walk away with practical skills to integrate somatic practices into your daily life for manageable and consistent self-awareness and relaxation.

In this 3 hour Workshop, you will:

Increase Body Awareness

Understand subtle sensations in your body and how this wisdom can improve your ability to respond to physical and emotional signals in the body and interdependent relationships.

Release Chronic Tension

We’ll walk through a practice designed to discover your natural tension holding patterns to learn how to let go of stored stress and tension.

 Hi, I’m Grace Secker, a Licensed Psychotherapist, Certified Yoga Therapist, and Nervous System Coach. 

My passion for helping others heal comes from my own struggles with nervous system dysregulation. For years, I battled chronic pain, anxiety, and burnout, trying countless treatments that offered only temporary relief. 

It wasn’t until I discovered the power of the mind-body connection and nervous system regulation that I began to truly heal. Now, with over 15 years of experience, I’m dedicated to guiding others toward lasting wellness through personalized, holistic care.

Hi, I’m Keirst Ferguson, a life-long yoga student. I have completed over 450 hours of yoga teacher training, with a dedicated focus in nervous system regulation, anatomy, and alignment. My educational background in Human Biology and Neuroscience makes me an informed, but highly intuitive yoga teacher.

I leads yoga retreats with co-facilitators all over the United States, and brings informed intention, deep care, and authentic connection into every space.

I teach a balanced blend of breath work, strength-building postures, yin, and somatic release techniques to ground and restore the nervous system. I focus on improving lung capacity, mental clarity, individual empowerment, alignment, and functional movement.

Each class progresses into a series of dynamic poses with repetition and somatic techniques interwoven into the flow to train the nervous system to elevate and calm naturally by utilizing the breath. 

What’s on the agenda?

This workshop is interactive. We won’t spend much time lecturing. Instead, we’ve intentionally curated a series of events that will allow you to experience body awareness, gathering tools and insights along the way. So what’s that look like, exactly?

Welcome & introductions:  

We’ll use this time to meet each other, ground into the space, and start to understand what you’re bringing into the space, and better tailor how we can address your specific needs throughout the workshop.

Nervous System 101:

Grace, who has years of experience as a somatic therapist, will walk us through the basics of the nervous system in a digestible and approachable way that will set you up for deeper understanding throughout the workshop.

Breathwork: Elevation versus decompression:

Keirst, somatic yoga teacher, will guide us through two opposite breathwork practices. We’ll first learn about breath techniques that are designed to elevate the nervous system and release heavy emotional energy like anger and sadness. We’ll switch gears into a grounding and decompressing breath pattern that can be utilized to relax and restore the body when elevated with anxiety or excess energy.

Embodiment Practice:

We’ll work through an exercise that highlights the wisdom of the body through posture, breath, and awareness. You’ll learn about the difference between dharma and drama, and how our subconscious behaviors and thoughts can affect how we experience and shape our inner and outer world. We’ll end this practice with somatic shaking techniques.

Restorative Yoga:

Ground back into your body with long, restorative yoga postures designed to calm the nervous system and allow the body to integrate your experience, leaving you feeling relaxed and blissed, rather than elevated and energetic.
